RISING STARS SOFTBALL PHOTOS!!

The Rising Stars Softball Academy day begins with players working in small groups under the instruction of Academy Coaches.  A low 6 to 1 Player to Coach Ratio allows each group to concentrate on the chosen "Skill of the Day."  Fostering greater proficiency in the areas of base running, bunting, hitting, sliding and fielding is the Softball Academy's primary goal.  Each concentrated-upon skill is incorporated into both the Daily Skills Competition and Daily Drill Exercises as well as becoming the focus of the Daily Scrimmage Game.

The Rising Stars Softball Academy is run under the direction of Johnny Rooney and Suzanne Trautwein.  This year they will be joined by MHS graduate and Trinity College Softball alumn Katherine Stoltenberg.

Celebrating its 14th year, the Softball Academy has given young female athletes the tools necessary to advance their growth within the sport.  The camp itself is designed to teach all aspects of the game while reinforcing the importance of good sportsmanship and having FUN with the game of softball.

During the week, Rising Stars participants will play on McKnight Field in Belle Mead. As well, campers will spend one morning attending a Somerset Patriots baseball game in Bridgewater, NJ.  The cost of admission to the game, transportation to Bridgewater, as well as a camp T-shirt and daily prizes are included in the camp enrollment fee.
